Reader’s Theatre for fluency

Reader’s Theatre — “Modeled, assisted, and repeated readings are powerful tools for improving fluency.” This is Chase Young and Timothy Rasinski’s justification for building the “Reader’s Theatre” Many downloadable scripts are available for practice. In a class of 15, half of the students serve as “Active Listeners” who would then take notes for either a take-home follow-up worksheet or quiz. This is great way to practice reading aloud, silently, becoming automatic and expressive in public readings! CHECK IT OUT! And thanks Rick Borger for the suggestion (See: Rick The Story Guy- http://rickthestoryguy.wordpress.com/tag/jacob-wonderbar/)
