Randy Easthouse is a TESL Canada Level 2 Advanced Certified ESL Instructor and language coach. He loves helping professionals, immigrants and high school or university students refine and improve their English speaking, listening and writing while assisting them to develop cultural competence and confidence in accurate and understandable communication.
He is a native speaker of English and fluent in Spanish. Randy has an MA from Azusa Pacific University, a TESL2 Permanent Certificate (TESL Canada), and a BA in English Literature from San Jose State University. He’s completed a certification course at Chalmers Economic Development Institute (Covenant College, Georgia) and has presented and published papers advocating for indigenous literacy’s vital role in today’s development community.
Randy has taught full time in Calgary, Alberta Canada from 2007 until 2018 while also privately coaching professionals and students in language acquisition. Randy has taught at the the University of Calgary, Calgary’s Centre for Newcomers, AGAPE Learning Centre, GEOS Language Academy, and Complete Corporate Training. Randy also served for 3 years as an IELTS Examiner for the British Council and IDP. Before that he was Coordinator for the International Studies/TESOL programs at ABC in Calgary, as well as representing (EFC’s) Micah Challenge. He’s also served as National Coordinator for the CCRDA: Canadian Christian Relief and Development Association. From 1986-2002 Randy worked in Peru, South America for 16 years in bilingual language development and teacher training.
Randy loves working on (and consuming!) organic and edible landscaping, making our community a better place to live. He enjoys meeting coaching clients and students at local coffee shops and interacting with them in their real life environment. He is a connoisseur of fine coffee and good conversation. He also loves woodcarving of the Mexican coastal birds a hiking and exploring the mountains and beaches of Jalisco and Nayarit.
